Parliament has approved the reorganisation of local government in a County in the south of England. This will lead to the creation of two new unitary authorities from 1 April 2019.

This decision creates the requirement to understand the contractual, partnership and policy changes, decommissioning and day to day operating procedures for staff and members.

The Programme Director for the Council Area is now seeking an experienced professional consultancy to support some business-critical elements of the planning process surrounding the Service Continuity Workstream.

The need is for professionally skilled capacity over and above what is currently available in the partner organisations that is able to act independently of supervision to set up and/or manage project workstreams

Project management skills essential, some local government experience highly desirable but not essential, ability to self-manage and build relationships quickly with stakeholders and subject matter experts.

To be agreed on starting, but relating to periodic delivery within the overall Programme of key workstreams, including Customer / Service Continuity and the Cross Cutting Workstream. Each is required to develop and deliver against project plans alongside the existing programme team, the subject matter experts and assigned resources from the existing councils.

This role has been scoped outside IR35 (£300 a day)
